Easy honey sesame chicken is a quick, sweet-savory stir-fry featuring tender chicken coated in a sticky honey-soy glaze, finished with sesame seeds and scallions.
1½ lbs boneless chicken breasts or thighs, cubed
2 tbsp cornstarch (plus 2 tsp for sauce)
1–2 tbsp vegetable oil
⅓ cup honey
¼ cup low-sodium soy sauce
2 tbsp rice vinegar
1 tsp toasted sesame oil
2 garlic cloves, minced
1 tsp grated ginger
2 tbsp sesame seeds
2 scallions, sliced (optional)
Salt and pepper, to taste
Toss chicken with 2 tbsp cornstarch, salt, and pepper.
Whisk sauce ingredients in a bowl: honey, soy sauce, vinegar, sesame oil, garlic, ginger, and 2 tsp cornstarch.
Sear chicken in hot oil until golden and cooked through. Set aside.
Simmer sauce in same pan until thickened.
Return chicken to pan, coat in sauce, and simmer 2–3 minutes.
Garnish with sesame seeds and scallions. Serve warm.
Add chili flakes for heat. Serve over rice or veggies. Great for meal prep—store up to 4 days in fridge.
